MILAN – They meet face to face once again slightly less than one month after their last race: Dylan Mouth and Biz The Nurse, respectively first and second placed in the Premio Federico Tesio, run in Milan on 21 September 2014. On Sunday they will once again face one another at the starting gates of the Gran Premio of the Jockey Club, on the most prestigious day of the year for the Milan Gallop Racetrack: on the program there are two Group 1 races, three Group 3 races, another three handicap races, for a total jackpot of almost Euro 580 thousand.
The Gran Premio of the Jockey Club, a Group 1 race with a jackpot of Euro 209 thousand, is the most prestigious race of the day: now at its 92nd edition, will be focused especially on the new match between Biz The Nurse, among the best four-year-old Italian thoroughbreds, who however has not won since September 2013 (in the meantime, he has collected three second place prizes and one third place prize) and Dylan Mouth, three years old, six races run in Italy and just as many wins, including the Derby last May and the Premio Tesio. The Snai bookmakers consider Dylan Mouth as the solid favorite, with odds at 1.50, while for Biz The Nurse the odds are 3.50.
Uncertainty for the German horse Open Your Heart: three years old, chestnut coat, so far has run only in Germany, but after his debut, he has only run in Group 1 and 2 races, attaiing third place in Hamburg in the German Derby last July. This horse remains to be deciphered, on the eave of the race, Snai offers odds of 11. Is another surprise possible? Duca di Mantova, a regular on the Milanese tracks, five years of experience and he had a come-back win in Milan at the beginning of October, in the Premio Duca d’Aosta. Snai odds 8.00.
As for the other horses, the they all have virtually outsider roles, including Refuse to Bobbin: of all the starters, he is the one with the most experience, 25 races in his career, 15 placed finshes and four wins, including the Premio Presidente della Repubblica (Group 1 race) last May. On 28 September, he did not run well in the Premio Di Capua, albeit on heavy and insidious terrain, on Sunday Snai’s odds are set at 21.
Sopran Nicolo is also assigned odds of 21, two wins and one placed finish in Milan, but not in Group races. A horse with slightly higher chances is Wild Wolf, who runs the tracks at both Capannelle and San Siro, five wins and 11 placed finishes in his career: for the Jockey Club, Snai calculates indicative odds of 13.
This is the most important hurdle race of the season in Milan: ten horses at the starting line, 4 thousand meters of tracks with hurdles at least 110 cm high, an unpredictable race up to the very last meter. The length of the route, the possible slowdowns before each hurdle make the finish uncertain until the very end. Sol Invictus, who has already run and won in Milan, and especially Brog Deas, who beat him in the hurdle race in Merano are both worth keeping an eye on. The favorites also include Frolon, second place in steeplechase at the Gran Premio of Merano, but with excellent results in hurdles as well, and the German Indian Sun, who won nine of the last eleven races run. The odds are 3.50 for Brog Deas and Frolon, 4.00 for Sol Invictus, 6.00 for Indian Sun.
Sunday, the gates will be opened at 12:00 noon: races will start at 14:15, the Gran Corsa Siepi will begin at 14:50, while for the Gran Premio of the Jockey Club the opening of the starting cages is scheduled for 17:50.
The Gp of the Jockey Club will be broadcasted live starting from 17:45 on Sky Sport 24 (Sku channel 200), while already at 14:00 Unire Tv, visible unencrypted on Sky channel 220 di Sky, will film live the entire afternoon of races at the San Siro Racetrack.
