It is the first of the three Group races scheduled at Sesana racecourse during 2016, dedicated to the memory of the driver Vivaldo Baldi, true legend of the trot, protagonist during the ’60s and author of more than 5,000 victories in his career.
Is an historic event, with the first edition held in 1953, and was originally called “Premio City of Montecatini Terme”, its current name dates back to 1955. Open to Italian and foreign three-year-old horses, is an excellent opportunity to assess the possible enrolled in the Derby of Italy: in the past have been numerous horse that, after winning this race, also won the “Blue Ribbon”, the prize awarded to the horse who won the Derby.
The roll of honor contains names like Capriccio, Seducer, Nievo, Right, Gualdo, Steno, Freddy, Argo Ve, up to the most recent Uronometro and Varenne.
